How we chose a new colleague - Part 4
The coming of spring inspires new life in our architectural design studio. Recently the stork brought us a cute designer baby, and we are waiting for him to release a second shipment at any moment, so life has looked for a manifestation in the face of a new colleague / new colleagues /. With the increase in the volume of tasks we work on, our need for new fresh forces arose, with which we can turn our dreams into reality from the very beginning to the very end - to build a new life, so to speak :). As our fans already know, here we have a tradition of choosing a new colleague, which was formed gradually over the years, reflecting the current needs of their time. Remember, you can peek here, here and here…
This time 58 architects looked for a job with us.
Almost all provided the necessary data required by us, namely, CV and portfolio. Only one of them was without a portfolio. It is interesting to mention that 20 of them were men and 38 women. After the initial collection and treatment of information, within 3 weeks, while our ad was running in jobs.bg, we invited 19 candidates for an interview. Our whole team considered the applications and the selection was the result of a collective choice, like everything about our team.
Two of the candidates did not show up, but the other 17 respected us and showed us their creativity with the task set for them, to design a single-family house with which to appear for an interview. As we have already established from previous similar competitions, our idea was to give the opportunity to our future potential colleagues to present their Architectural Self on a sheet of A3, by hand. We know very well that each of our architectural works is our professional signature to the world. Each project expresses our personal creative vision and attitude towards the environment, reflecting all factors of any nature. But, let's move forward :)
The set task is from our real project, on which we are already are working hard and the condition is:
Within the property to design a single-family residential building for a family of about 50 years old, with grown children living separately.
Explicit customer requirements:
- double garage;
- view of the city
- an office that can also serve as a guest room.
All that left to be decided by the designer.
The place is real, you can see it here:
And here, we present to you the signatures of our 17 candidates / 5 men and 12 women / - anonymously and randomly. so you will have the lucky opportunity to get acquainted with them / if you click on the picture, your acquaintance will be more detailed, and with some selected will be permanent /.
Here is the place to emphasize the fact that not all colleagues payed enough attention to the assignment. Where the plot is mirrored, where the bedrooms are twice as much as desired, etc. in future competitions, colleagues, read seven times, cut once, sorry, design. Or, as someone said, "don't draw unless absolutely necessary!"
So, who will we choose .... we'll see that in no time.
We will not hide the fact that we already have a top three, but we will leave you to guess / maybe with comments / - who are ''the chosen ones''.
We truly thank everyone involved in our adventure. We want to wish you exciting architectural journeys and creative challenges, independently with us or on your own bright paths. We are enjoyed meeting everyone and making new architectural acquaintances, hoping that, regardless of the course of events, we will smile and move forward as friends!
And in order to positively move forward, we will quote a line from our previous post on the topic, which is still in place:
"For us, in such endeavors there are no losers, everyone wins, some - friendship, others - knowledge, others - work"
We look forward to your comments, they always inspire us!
We always look for feedback from customers, suppliers, colleagues, friends. People are our critics and judges and your every opinion is extremely important to us.
Don't skip, write in a line, it doesn't hurt, it's even super fun.
See you soon, because the adventure continues.
