how we chose a new colleague, 5 years later

When a few months ago the circumstances again required us to find a new addition to our small architectural team, in the spirit of our good practices from 5 years ago, we again organized a mini-architectural competition.
The idea was again to give applicants the opportunity to present themselves in the best "architectural" light, to show us how they think, how they approach the task, how they approach the profession they have chosen, to show us the architects who are fresh in general. In them, on a sheet of A3, by hand…
And so we find ours.
Here are the results, I hope long-awaited and interesting, at least for us they were like that.
Some statistics:
The total number of applications (with a presented portfolio) - almost 100.
Total invited for interview after initial selection - 28 (12 men, 16 women), of which:
- 4 gave up
- 7 did not show up
- 17 interviews conducted
The task:
On the given property to design a holiday house, providing comfort for the summer vacation of a family with 2 children (twins). The property measures 16.5 x 30 m. the maximum allowable density is 20%, but the investor imagines rather 60 sq.m. built-up area, although it is open for proposals.

We have not yet made a decision, but we have decided not to let you wait any longer and to open the stage for your opinions.

For us in such endeavors there are no losers, all win, some - friendship, others - knowledge, others - work.

After long debates and a lot of reflection, here are the results of our little competition:
(Apart from the solution of the task, when choosing we took into account everything else that the candidates showed us - portfolio and CV, experience and skills, as well as our personal impressions of the interviews; however, the initial selection was based on the architectural solution of the house, and the ranking of the first two completely coincides with the ranking of our mini-competition. (house 100 does not "play")
