ArchAUSTRIA 05
Begins the last part of our jorney in the Austrian-Alpine architectural tour.
Voest Alpine Stahl GmbH is an international company operating in the steel industry. After an architectural competition, Dietmar Feichtinger Architectes are the winners for the execution of the building in Linz.
We had the pleasure to walk around the head office, where the company's sales and finance departments are located. It can be said that the complex is a showroom of the possibilities of steel and the varieties of products produced by it. One of the company's goals was to use mainly its products for construction and finishing work. We will see both large cantilever volumes and cut sheet metal and nets used on the facades.
A small part of the interior, which we managed to photograph, as our visit was on a weekend.
конструкцията на тази конзола е изпълнена от стомана.
Here is what is hidden under the huge square-green space - underground parking, which, however, is equipped with a large amount of daylight and completely natural ventilation.
We were pleased with the gabion nets, which were used as a shaping and place for hamgimg plants.
Down, in the parking there is also a garden.
Despite the flat terrain, the architects have found a solution for what to do with the soil left after the excavations. Nothing is lost, it just changes its shape.
Our next stop is the Science Park Universität Linz, designed by Caramel Architekten. The complex is part of the new state-of-the-art research park, which houses teaching halls and laboratories.
The uniform architectural appearance of the buildings makes an interesting impression.
We couldn't help but try the benches, which came out of the markings all over the complex.
We will soon arrive at the last destination for this trip, namely Opera House Linz, designed by Terry Pawson Architects after winning an architectural competition in 2006, and construction was completed in the spring of 2013.
Next time we will simply have go on an internal tour of the opera behind the stage, because this is the most interesting part, at least for us architects.
We greet you with a beautiful sunset over Linz, we had amazing experiences together and we can't wait to go on the road together again. Of course, we will share with you the new experiences.
See you soon!
